| The Palmetto Battalion is the South
Carolina organization of reenactors of America's civil war. The Battalion is a
nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status. Dues for this organization is 20.00
per year and are collected through Member Units. Members
of the Battalion enjoy the bimonthly publication, The Palmetto Vindicator. Another
benefit is liability insurance up to $ 1,000,000.00 covering reenactors participating at
all events on the Battalion schedule. A benefit that some people don't think about right off is that as an established organization with large numbers we make an impact when we attend an event. Our alliances with other state organizations makes us the authority when we attend a national event. Our members establish the structure that we work within to make the Battalion the premier reenactor's group among all the others. We drill together to improve our appearance on the field and nothing will make you as proud as when you hear someone say, "Boy, they look sharp.".
