| To become a member unit of
the Palmetto Battalion, a group must have five members present at three events during the
past year before it can be voted on. The new unit will then be given assignment to a
company by the Battalion staff. The unit remains a unit as long as one member remains a
battalion member, but when it has less than five active members, the unit has no vote on
staff. To become an infantry company is more difficult than becoming a unit. First the
company must be voted to be given probationary status by the general membership, then it
has to go through a years probation where the company has to field 25 muskets (not
including officers and 1st sergeants) at five events. If this requirement is not made
during the year, then the company ceases to exist within the Battalion. If it is met, then
the Battalions general membership votes as to whether the company will be
established as a permanent company. Note that the email addresses below do not include the < symbol or the > symbol. They are displayed to help prevent spam.
